Being a Christian means doing bible things in biblical ways and calling bible things by bible names. When one starts compromise the word of God put others life in danger, we start to settle for less than we were created for or asked to do. We start negotiating with the Lord. We avoid the means of doing things God’s way and start making our own laws. The word of God say in Revelation 22:18 “For I testify unto every man that hearth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book”. This mean we must accept the Word of God the way it is or do what it says without compromising.
Being a Christian today has become a lifestyle, it changes with time and fashion of the world. In the house of God we make our own laws which govern the way we do things forgetting that the bible is the A to Z of all that should happen. In Jesus we are made complete for He is the alpha and Omega, but why do we still look at this world to make or fashion our service to God in a way that we feel satisfied or happy; are we forgetting that God has asked us to seek Him first not satisfaction or happiness. Our Gospel music today is doing more harm than good, I attended a Gospel concert no so long ago, this made to realize how we take His name for granted for people were holding beer bottle, smoking weed while singing what we call gospel. But then it makes sense to me now because even Christian singing has just become a form of entertainment, Is no longer a matter speaking to ourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; but a matter of enjoying and dancing, I wonder how many of us even understand what we saying with the words we say during our services.
The greatest Command of all says that we are to love our God with all that we are, the service, the way we live and do things all this will be done to please God not ourselves. The songs we sings will be more about praising Him and knowing what we saying from the Heart for our God looks beyond the dancing and instruments we play but seeks us to give our hearts to Him. Today we even decorate sin, we accommodate it, it never shocks us anymore, and maybe it is the reason why Christians have lost their saltiness. We seek not to be different for our Lord for we are afraid that the world will not accept us, so we go with the flow. Every day we are to worship our Lord not only by singing but through the way we live. This is a moment of not comprising for the days are evil, a house on top of the mountain cannot be hidden but why we as children of God shying away.
Man of God who didn’t compromise when called for a task such as Abraham, Moses, Joshua and David to mention the few achieved the purpose which God asked of them and they were counted righteous through the works of their faith. Today we asked to give up all our ways that are wrong. The book of Hebrews 12: 1-3 say; let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Let’s us wear off all our laziness, unfaithfulness and serve our God with commitment and love for this is no time for comprising the word of God.
Come out from your own people and be different, be a community of God, salt of the earth, light of the world and bear fruits in the Lord.(Galatians 5:22). Imagine if Noah, Abraham compromised, what if Jesus did compromised His goal of saving the world but we thank God today they all didn’t. There were all man of action, let us consider the power of their example. The Lord’s church has many spokesmen who say and do not do, when the bible talks, we say but, are we not compromising when we start giving excuses. If it say love, do not be greed and do not be fornicators we are to do just that, with no negotiation (Ephesians 5:1-7).
Moses and Aaron lead the Israel from Egypt, the bible tell us about a moment in which God tell them that because they didn’t believe Him, they will not bring the children of Israel into the promise land (Numbers 20:12). Moses saw the promise land from afar, he didn’t enter, lesson to us is this; if we continue to compromise the word of God and do not do as He says, we will see heaven from afar and will not enter. Let us learn from those who came before us, let us walk the walk worth the calling (Heb 10:23).
